What is lawrkhawm?
lawrkhawm.com, the first user driven content Web site from Mizoram. All the content that you see on this site is voted
by the community (users like you). You choose and vote what content or post should be published on the front page. You will not have to
beg editors to have your story published. All you have to do is submit a story and if your submission is cool enough, it will be voted by the
community (users like you) and once it receives enough votes, your post/story will make it to the front page. Simply put, lawrkhawm.com is
a democracy, where you vote and choose what content is cool and worthy enough of making it to the front page.
Uhhh! Is that it?
Well, there's more. As a user, you can share your opinions and discuss about a story by commenting on the post. If you find a comment that
is abusive and unpleasant, give it a negative rating by clicking the Red icon (marked with '-') next to a comment and well, "bury" if for good.
This way, you help lawrkhawm.com keep away spammers and internet trolls.
Curious about what other people in the community are doing at lawrkhawm? Not to worry! you can watch user activity at lawrkhawm
as it happens. Use 'lawrkhawm live' to watch comments, votes, and buries made by users in real time. And yes, you don't need to refresh

Some tips
- How do I post images in my story?
To post images, use the img tag. Here's how.
Go to sites like imageshack, click the browse button, locate your image and click the
upload button.
After the images are uploaded, imageshack will show different paths of the image you just uploaded to their server. This is called the path of
the image.
Copy that path of your image and use the following code syntax:
For example, to display the following image

the following code was used:
- What's all this voting that is being talked about?
Well, you'll notice that there are some items under Posts awaiting your vote on the right pane. These stories are not promoted to the
front page unless someone from the community (users like you) vote for it. If your story hasn't recieved any votes, someone didn't find it cool
enough to promote it to the front page.
- Ok, then how do I vote for a story
?
If you're on the front page of lawrkhawm, you must
have already noticed that every story title has a number and a text labelled as "vote" below it. The number is the total number of votes
received by the story. Click Vote to vote for the story. The number of votes casted for the story increases. The animation is an
illustration that would help you understand this better :)
- And what's this bury option?
Well, the bury option is the opposite of the vote option. A vote gives +10 points to a story, while a bury un-votes an article, i.e. the story
recieves a negative vote of -10 points. Someone didn't like your story.
- What are all those
and
signs that I see next to each comment?
Clicking + on a comment is a way for you say, "Hey, I like that comment". This is a way for you to appreciate some user's comment. If you
don't like a comment, just click the - sign next to the comment. As opposed to clicking + for a comment, its a way for you to belittle someone's
comment. Well, it can be used mischevioiusly, but that's the fun part of the whole thing. If some user belittles your comment (gives a - rating
to your comment), you can always ask your friends in the community to give a + rating to your comment. Hey, that's what democracy is about,
isn't it?
Note: A comment with negative votes ( e.g. -1. -2 etc) is automatically hidden.
- Submitting a story is really nagging. Why three steps to submit a story?
This is to prevent spamming of this site with irrelevant stories and to ensure that it isn't misused.
- What is this live page?
This page lets you to sneak, spy and see in real time, what other users at lawrkhawm are up to. You can view activities, such as which user
voted/commented for what story/comment or for that matter, unvoted a story/comment.
